Adi Hütter clarifies AS Monaco's goalkeeper situation

Adi Hütter was definitive in pre-season, stating that Radoslaw Majecki, having displaced Philipp Köhn in the second half of last season, would be AS Monaco’s No. 1 this campaign.
However, the Polish goalkeeper was injured in pre-season and missed the opening weeks of the season. But returning to fitness, there was no question of him retaking the No.1 jersey. However, Majecki was once again injured before the winter break. Despite returning to training, it was then Köhn who started in goal in the Coupe de France defeat to Stade de Reims on Tuesday night.
Had the Swiss goalkeeper altered the hierarchy? Not so, according to Hütter, who in Thursday’s press conference, attended by Get French Football News, confirmed that Majecki would return in goal for Monaco when they face Montpellier HSC on Friday night.
“In the Coupe de France, it is a tradition in France to give a chance to the second-choice goalkeeper,” said the Monaco manager, who has said that the decision to reinstate the returning Majecki had nothing to do with Köhn’s performances. The hierarchy is therefore clear heading forward for Les Monégasques.
