Ali Abdi (30) is the latest player to be struck down with injury for OGC Nice. The Tunisia international will miss this weekend’s match against RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to a report from L’Équipe

Nice could be without two wing-backs when Strasbourg visit the Allianz Riviera on Sunday evening. Jonathan Clauss was absent as France beat Italy on Sunday evening with the defender struggling with muscular discomfort. He will undergo tests later this week but it is looking likely that he will miss the match against Les Alsaciens, at least.

There is now an issue on the other wing too. Ali Abdi suffered a hamstring injury during Tunisia’s 1-0 defeat to The Gambia on Monday. He, like Clauss, will undergo further tests later this week in order to determine his period of absence. However, L’Équipe understands that Ali Abdi’s absence versus RCSA is already confirmed.

It is an absence that further decreases Franck Haise’s options. It will likely mean that Melvin Bard will revert to the position, having featured at LCB before the international break.
