The top scorer in Ligue 1 hopes to be reunited with one of his former Manchester United teammates.
Mason Greenwood (23) and Paul Pogba (31) both came through the ranks at the Manchester United academy and were on the team that finished as the UEFA Europa League runners-up in 2020-21, a tournament that Pogba previously won with the Red Devils in 2016-17.
Pogba was allowed to return to training at the beginning of 2025 but is still without a club team since Juventus parted ways with the Frenchman in late November. The 2018 World Cup champion received a four-year doping ban last February, which was reduced to 18 months in October. That will make him eligible to return to the pitch in March.
Olympique de Marseille are among the sides reportedly interested in signing him, with Greenwood now making a plea for him to join the nine-time Ligue 1 champions.
In a recent interview with Téléfoot Greenwood, he expressed his enthusiasm for Marseille to potentially acquire Pogba.
"It would be nice to see Pogba sign for Marseille," said the striker.
Like Greenwood, Pogba is also seeking to rejuvenate his playing career, missing the 2022 World Cup for France through injury.
Greenwood was charged with in 2022 with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. He was subsequently frozen out at Manchester United and spent the following season on loan at Getafe. All charges have since been discontinued with the player in question denying all allegations.
Since coming to Marseille ahead of this season, the former England youth striker has 13 goals and two assists in 19 Ligue 1 affairs.
Pogba has never played at senior level in the French top flight, having had two stints at Manchester United and Juventus.
Téléfoot asked Greenwood if he sees himself staying at Marseille for a long time. "Of course, it's something that I'd like to do. I want to win trophies here. Play in the Champions League, it's a great ambition to be here," says Greenwood.
