Marc Keller has leapt to the defence of RC Strasbourg Alsace’s owners, BlueCo, amid the continued protest against the club’s owners and the multi-club model.

Since their purchase of the club back in the summer of 2023, BlueCo have not had the most hospitable welcome by the Strasbourg fans.

BlueCo's ownership of the Ligue 1 side has been contested and ressentment has been evident at every matchday since. Be it through marches, banners in the Meinau, or via communiqués from groups such as Ultra Boys 90, a significant section of RCSA's fans have made it clear what they think of their American owners, who also own Premier League giants Chelsea.

Strasbourg’s Ultras have also remained silent for the first 15 minutes of every match, be it home and away, despite the club’s strong form in recent weeks. Currently ninth in Ligue 1, they are undefeated in their last eight games in all competitions. Having drawn against Olympique de Marseille last week, they backed that result up with a big win against UEFA Champions League side Lille OSC over the weekend.

In the wake of that result, Keller has addressed the fans in a call for unity. “Our players, who are exemplary on the pitch, deserve the unconditional support of our fans from the first minute,” said Keller in a press release, referencing the 15-minute strike.

‘We have means that we have never before seen thanks to BlueCo’ – Keller

“I fully assume the decision that we took to sell the club in 2023 with our old shareholders. It has allowed the club to now take a step forward. I am fully satisfied with the daily work and development that we have made with BlueCO and I want to praise the investment, commitment and confidence that they are showing towards our club and our region,” he added.

“Our players strongly defend our colours, our sporting and administrative staff are committed and competent and we have means that we have never before seen thanks to our owner. Our club has everything to succeed and this success will come through a sacred union between all parties of Le Racing. We know what our club can achieve with the Meinau behind it,” said the Strasbourg owner.

Rosenior also calls for support from Strasbourg fans

He concluded, “When we are united, we can move mountains – I still believe that, as I have since 2012. Let’s stay united and support our team with this ambition to have an impressive end to the season and to bring Racing to an even higher level.”

Keller’s call mirrors comments made by manager Liam Rosenior back in October 2024. “Yes, I think that my players suffer from a lack of atmosphere in the first 15 minutes. I think that everyone working around the club wants it to be successful in the long term. We all need to be together to make this club grow. This talented group deserved to be supported from the opening minutes,” said the Englishman.
