Dean Huijsen has been one of the breakout stars in the Premier League this season, with Liverpool now interested in the defender.
The Spanish centre-back has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe with Liverpool eyeing Huijsen as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, with the 19-year-old having a £50m release clause to leave AFC Bournemouth this summer.
Liverpool are not alone in their interest in the former Juventus defender, though, with Real Madrid also keen on signing Huijsen, who this week has made his first senior appearance for the Spanish national team.
And Huijsen himself has now come out and spoke about his future amid growing interest from the likes of Liverpool and Madrid.

Liverpool target Dean Huijsen ‘not thinking’ about summer move
Speaking to reporters whilst on international duty, the teenage centre-back admitted that he isn’t thinking about leaving Bournemouth this summer, though Huijsen is flattered to be attracting big interest heading into the transfer window.
Huijsen said: “Would I like to play for Real Madrid? At the moment I’m not thinking about it. I’m thinking about finishing the season well and then when the right time comes, we’ll see. It’s an honour that such an important team is interested in you. But we have to continue working and stay humble.”
With Jamie Carragher worried Van Dijk will depart Liverpool with the Anfield captain yet to sign a new long-term contract with the Reds, Huijsen could be the dream signing for Arne Slot’s side for both next season and for years to come.
Indeed, Huijsen would be a dream signing for Liverpool with the defender thriving in the Premier League and having a reasonable release clause, yet interest from Madrid could be a major issue for the Reds heading into the summer.
Liverpool can flex their newfound reputation by beating Real Madrid to Dean Huijsen
Every footballer on the planet dreams of playing for Los Blancos, with Liverpool expected to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold to Madrid this summer with Ibrahima Konate also wanted by the Spanish giants.
Yet with Huijsen only at the start of his career, the rush to join Madrid will not be present in the teenage defender, which gives Liverpool the chance to make a big move for the Bournemouth star in the summer.
Moreover, beating Madrid to a transfer target will allow Liverpool to flex their newfound reputation under Slot, who will be keen to overhaul his squad this summer and to build an exciting team for the future.
