Feast Times for "Only Salah"

The Egyptian was not MOTM on Sunday — but sparkled yet again
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah scored two and secured a brace of assists in Liverpool's 6-3 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur (a match which felt closer to a 9-0 than a 6-3 if we're honest). Given his contributions it speaks only to the strength of the team that he wasn't the main man discussed in the aftermath.
Though Salah flew relatively under the radar as the dust settled, with Luis Díaz and Dominic Szoboszlai picking up deserved plaudits, Salah's performance continued his incredible rise to seal all the statistics.
Here's a sampling of a few of the key numbers:
Per Opta Analyst, Sunday's late kick-off was the seventh match this season in which Salah both scored and assisted, which is, amazingly, the record for a full season. In just 16 games the Egyptian has drawn level with what the likes of Alan Shearer (1994-95), Thierry Henry (2002-03), Robin van Persie (2011-12), Bruno Fernandes and Harry Kane (both 2020-21) could manage in a full 38.
This is some achievement.
Furthermore, he's the first player in Premier League history to reach double figures in both goals and assists before Christmas, as he's currently on 15 goals and 11 assists. As some have pointed out on social media, that's more than some clubs have achieved. If he scores another five this season he'll be on equal terms with the lowest goals scored in a campaign for a single club (Sheffield United in 2020/21 and Derby County in 2007/08).
It should be noted, however, that he's actually level on appearances with Harry Kane to accomplish this (the Tottenham forward couldn't manage it before Christmas because he did so in the delayed COVID-19 season).
This is also Salah's sixth time reaching double figures for G+A, which speaks to the sustained level he's been at while at Liverpool; he's the first player to do so in four consecutive seasons.
He of course has also made progress in his Liverpool-specific records, moving up to fourth in all-time scorers for the club (he's the eighth overall on the Premier League leaderboard). Outside of the league, Salah has 229 total goals for the Reds, and he reached this number four games faster than it took Arsenal's Thierry Henry to get his 228 in all competitions for the Gunners.
All this is to say that it might just be Mohamed Salah's world; we're lucky we get to live in it.
