As Christmas comes around again, Liverpool supporters still have one – or three – wishes above any other.

The Reds are flying high at the top of the Premier League and Champions League during the festive period, but fans are still waiting for their dreams to come true in other ways.

Clearly, if there was just one thing to wish for in 2025, then it would be for a Premier League title for Liverpool.

However, not far behind seeing Arne Slot lift the league trophy at Anfield would be for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to sign new contracts.

The trio are true Liverpool legends, and have each been at the club for seven years at least.

Over that time they have developed close and lasting friendships. And according to Alexander-Arnold, there are few better friendships than the one he has with Salah.

Trent Alexander-Arnold opens up on Mo Salah freindship

Alexander-Arnold and Salah have been a world-class partnership on Liverpool’s right-hand side for the past seven-and-a-half years.

Over that time, the two teammates have clearly created a lasting bond. So, when asked by Stadium Astro to share if he was closer to Salah or Dominik Szoboszlai, it was not a surprise to hear Trent go with Mo.

“I’d say Mo if I’m honest,” the Scouser admitted. “Just how long we’ve known each other and how long we’ve played together, our bond and connection, especially on the pitch.”

However, Alexander-Arnold revealed that as well as their professional connection, he and Salah have also been hanging out away from the field.

Admitting that he has often been round to Salah’s for dinner – but never cooks – Trent revealed that last time he visited Liverpool’s No.11, the Egyptian King filmed a video of him which will never see the light of day.

“Last time I went I was petrified because he’s got cats and I don’t like cats,” says Alexander-Arnold.

“He’s got a video which I’ve told him can never, ever come out. It can never come out. But he’s literally got a video of me screaming because one of his cats jumps up near me! I’m screaming like ‘Mo, help, help!'”

Will Alexander-Arnold and Salah be teammates next season?

The sadness in this revelation is that Alexander-Arnold and Salah may no longer be teammates at all next season.

It’s nice to hear of the two men spending time together outside of the pitch and it’s clear that they mean a lot to each other.

As a result, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Alexander-Arnold is waiting to see what Salah does before committing his own future to Liverpool.

Much has been made of Alexander-Arnold’s friendship with Jude Bellingham and how that may influence a move to Real Madrid.

However, it should also be mentioned that Trent already has many important relationships with the current members of the Liverpool squad. It would be hard to leave that behind.

Yet one more reason why the Reds need to tie the Egyptian King down for good.
