Liverpool were one of the most inactive clubs in the summer transfer window, with Arne Slot only bringing in Federico Chiesa.

Giorgi Mamardashvili was also signed before the new season got underway, but the Valencia goalkeeper will join Liverpool next summer.

Steven Gerrard loved the signing of Chiesa, although the winger has yet to really get underway at Anfield given his injury issues.

He should, however, become a key player for Slot in the months to come, even with the long list of star attackers the manager has at his disposal.

Along with Chiesa, Slot can call upon Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.

Liverpool talking about Omar Marmoush and Karim Adeyemi

But the latest reports suggest that there could be further incomings in that area, with Liverpool keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt winger Omar Marmoush.

He isn't the only attacker being eyed, with Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger saying on X that Liverpool are also looking at Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi.

Berger reported that the Reds are internally discussing Marmoush and Adeyemi as replacements for Salah, with the duo currently being observed.

He added that Frankfurt want to extend Marmoush's current deal and increase his salary, with the Egyptian having attracted interest from Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in the summer.

Who will Liverpool replace Mohamed Salah with?

Berger's fellow Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg backed up the claims on X that Liverpool are monitoring both forwards.

He did, however, note that several clubs are keeping tabs on Adeyemi, and added that his injury issues are a concern for those targeting him.

Given that Salah's contract on Merseyside will expire at the end of the season – with no new deal in sight – it seems a replacement is very much needed.

The ideal scenario for all at Anfield would, of course, be a contract extension for the Egyptian, but that is looking increasingly unlikely with each day that passes.

Salah has started the new season in superb fashion, with six goals and five assists from his 10 appearances in all competitions.

Adeyemi meanwhile has five of each from his eight Borussia Dortmund matches, with Marmoush banging in nine goals along with six assists from nine appearances.
