Liverpool fans discuss whether they are worried about Man City in Premier League title race after their win over Chelsea

Liverpool have been in the driving seat for the majority of the Premier League season, with the Reds currently six points clear of second-place Arsenal.
With just one loss in the campaign, Liverpool are strong favourites to go all the way to win only their second-ever Premier League title, with Gary Neville saying Arne Slot’s tactics remind the pundit of Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson.

One key reason behind Liverpool’s success this season, though, has been the failure of other teams in the league, with Arsenal somehow still in the title race by the smallest of margins after a number of slip-ups with Manchester City 12 points behind the Reds after a historically disastrous few weeks.
Indeed, Pep Guardiola’s side are as far off from the title as they have been in years, and Liverpool fans on social media have been discussing if the Manchester giants have a chance of fighting for the championship after their win on Sunday against Chelsea.

Liverpool fans torn on Manchester City’s title resurgence
City returned to the Premier League top-four after a comeback win against Chelsea, with the Etihad Stadium looking like their former best having slumped to some truly surprising defeats in recent weeks under Guardiola.
Having beaten Liverpool to the signing of Omar Marmoush, though, City could be about to turn a corner having spent big this January on new signings and allowing some of the old guard to leave, namely Kyle Walker to depart for AC Milan on loan.
And on social media, Liverpool fans are torn on whether or not City can make a resurgence in the Premier League title race.
Another Liverpool supporter posted: “We would have to lose 4 games and they would have to win 4. And we still have a game in hand. Relax.”
Whilst one Anfield fan wrote on Twitter: “They are far, far off. Plus we are winning all our games, so no.”
Not all Liverpool followers were convinced about Slot’s side being home and dry, though, with one fan writing: “Man city definitely will catch up with us and win the league. Our bottling definitely starts if will fail to beat Bournemouth which I think we won’t. We have been winning with luck of recent. Mark my words!”
Another fan added: “They have better players than us and they added more too, we need Arsenal to get a result against them. If we win our game, we’re good.”
City’s next fixtures could determine title credentials
City have been up and down all season with the Manchester side going from one big win one weekend to throwing away a result the next, with Guardiola’s squad going through a rough patch that nobody could have predicted.

And if City’s title credentials are to be tested, it starts by how they perform in their next six games, with the reigning Premier League champions having six huge games coming up in the league with Arsenal away coming up this weekend.
With Liverpool travelling to the Etihad next month, the Reds themselves could put a stop to City’s title hopes whilst putting even more distance between them and the Manchester giants, and Slot would want to send another message when the time comes to head to the Etihad.
