Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu in the last few months. Now, Liverpool have also emerged as a potential suitor.
Solo Lecce have reported about the Reds interest in the Denmark international and they state that there is a possibility of Dorgu ending up in England soon.
Liverpool have ‘prepared a €40m investment’' for the youngster and the outlet believes that the club’s top management is already keen on moving for him.
They have been left convinced by the 20-year-old after sending emissaries to scout him four times in the past few months. Arne Slot’s side have noticed how the versatile the wing-back is, and how he has grown in stature and they’ve been left impressed.
There is competition from Napoli that Liverpool have to be wary of. Dorgu is said to have a 'long-distance' feeling with Antonio Conte and there is confidence that the Italian giants are already attempting a move.
Napoli don’t want an auction and have repeatedly tried to seal a deal by offering €30m plus bonuses to fend off competition from the Reds and other clubs.
As of now though, Liverpool are looking to offer a fee of €40m for Dorgu and that could blow the Naples club out of the water.
For Lecce it would be the ‘most important capital gain of all time’, meaning their record profit from a transfer.
