Liverpool legend Jan Molby has had his say on the atmosphere during Manchester City's Champions League clash with Inter Milan last night.

City fans have received criticism from ex Manchester United and Manchester City goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel for the way they backed their team last night, and his compatriot has also questioned their support.

Tipsbladet have reported on comments Molby made to Viaplay after Manchester City's 0-0 draw with Inter. The Dane believes there was a lack of atmosphere at the Etihad and that fans failed to get behind their team. He did point out that some supporters tried to get things going, but it clearly didn’t work.

"I know that they are often offended when you say that there is a bit of a lack of atmosphere here at the Etihad, but that was the case here tonight. We saw a few fans who were trying desperately to get something going, but it was just one of those nights. It didn’t really get going," said the former Liverpool midfielder when asked about the atmosphere.

Last night's draw leaves both Manchester City and Inter Milan in 11th place in the Champions League table in the new revamped competition.

The Premier League side will be confident picking up all three points when they travel to Slovakia to face Slovan Bratislava on match-day two.
