Real Betis have an option to improve their midfield with Liverpool’s Stefan Bajčetić in the winter market.
That’s according to Monday’s edition of AS, and they state the 20-year-old’s name is on the La Liga side’s table.
Last summer, Liverpool allowed Bajčetić to join Red Bull Salzburg on a season-long loan deal, to play under their former assistant, Pepijn Lijnders.
The Austrian club parted ways with Lijnders last month and appointed Thomas Letsch as his successor. The Liverpool man clocked in 890 minutes from 18 games under Lijnders’ orders.
AS claim the Spain U21 international’s desire is to play in La Liga and Real Betis would be an option for him in January.
Real Betis are in the market for a new midfielder because of injuries to William Carvalho and Marc Roca. They have the Reds owned player’s name in a list that already includes Juventus’ Arthur Melo and AS Roma’s Enzo Le Fée.
The newspaper claims Manuel Pellegrini’s side ‘must wait’ for Liverpool’s approval to cut short Bajčetić’s loan stay at Red Bull Salzburg to sign him, likely on another loan deal.
AS claim Real Betis aren’t in a rush and are also working on selling some players to carry out loan signings in January.
