With no new injuries or absences to report Arne Slot's Reds look in good shape as they return to Champions League action on Tuesday.

Despite a heavy fixture load, Liverpool head towards the end of January and prepare for the return of Champions League action on Tuesday night when they welcome Lille to Anfield for their penultimate league phase game with a largely fit squad.

In fact, following Saturday's late 2-0 victory over Brentford that ensured they would end the matchweek six points clear of chasers Arsenal and Nottingham Forest with a game in hand, the Reds' injury list remains set at a pair of first team absences.

On Monday as Arne Slot's side trained the only missing players were already injured Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez. The clinical striker and versatile defender are key players, and Jota in particular is likely first choice if fit, but it's a surprisingly short list.

There has been some suggestion through the season that the shift to resting more on the ball under Slot could lead to fitness and injury gains for the Reds, particularly in the second half of the season, and the situation does seem to hint at that.

Whether Liverpool's tweaked approach under Slot is paying dividends or if it's simply good injury luck should become clearer over the next month or two, but regardless cause the Reds look well positioned heading into the back half of the season.
