Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to impress under Arne Slot despite major uncertainty regarding his future.

Real Madrid want to sign Alexander-Arnold, who will see his Liverpool contract expire at the end of the season.

Alexander-Arnold doesn't want to leave mid-season, which is welcome news for Slot and the Anfield faithful.

But time is rapidly running out for a contract extension to be confirmed, with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah in the same situation.

The worry comes as Liverpool sit atop both the Premier League and Champions League thanks to their impressive displays under Slot.

"Liverpool are flying and playing unbelievably well. It looks like he is off to Real Madrid so for the rest of us, enjoy it over these next four or five months because, when he’s playing like he did against West Ham, it’s excellent to see."

What are Trent Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool stats?

Just like he was under Jurgen Klopp, Alexander-Arnold has been superb at both ends of the pitch this season.

The right-back netted his first goal of the season against the Hammers, adding to his assists tally of five in all competitions.

Those figures may be somewhat below his usual high standards, but he still now boasts stunning tallies of 20 goals and 85 assists from his 333 Liverpool appearances.

It would be a massive blow to not only lose such a key player, but also one that is an academy graduate that has been a superb servant for many years now.

And that is only the emotional aspect involved in any potential exit, with the Liverpool chiefs also needing to consider the fact that he could remarkably leave for free this summer.

That disastrous scenario could unfortunately force the Reds into accepting any Real Madrid offer for the full-back this month.
