Arne Slot has begun life as Liverpool’s new manager in fine form, with the Dutch coach winning 11 of his 13 games in charge.

The former Feyenoord boss has adapted to life at Anfield with ease with Slot getting the best out of a squad that remains largely Jurgen Klopp’s, with Liverpool making just one signing for this season this summer in the form of Federico Chiesa.

With Liverpool firmly in the Premier League title race, Slot could enjoy a historic year on Merseyside if the Reds go all the way and beat Manchester City to the championship, something only Klopp has managed in this era of English football.

And Slot has now hinted that one Klopp signing could be about to get even more game time in the coming weeks.

Darwin Nunuez tipped to play ‘every game’ for Liverpool by Slot

Speaking to Match of the Day 2, the Liverpool manager shared how Darwin Nunez now has to play ‘every game’ for the Reds, with Slot saying: “Darwin hasn’t played that many games but he has to play every game now because we needed him for a goal. He kept going with the energy.”

With Pat Nevin noting that Nunez looked frustrated for Liverpool against Arsenal due to a lack of service, a change could be happening for the Anfield side in regards to who leads the line alongside Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

Indeed, Steve McManaman was full of praise for Nunez last week against RB Leipzig, with the Uruguay international scoring the winning goal in Germany and enjoying one of his best games in Liverpool colours in quite some time.

And with Slot now suggesting that Nunez could play every game for Liverpool, the former Benfica star could be about to become a key player for the Merseyside giants at long last some three years after joining the Reds.

Can Nunez finally become Liverpool’s star striker?

Nunez arrived at Liverpool three years ago with a huge reputation from Benfica, yet things haven’t turned out at Anfield as many expected from the South American striker.

As per Nunez’s total tally for Liverpool, the 25-year-old striker is hardly a one-in-two goalscorer for the Reds, with the Uruguay international yet to really find his feet with the Reds despite numerous tries to get the best out of him.

However, things could change for Nuenz at Liverpool under Slot, with the Dutch coach seemingly determined to get the best out of the Anfield no. 9 after the manager’s recent comments this weekend.
