Liverpool were back to winning ways in the Premier League against AFC Bournemouth, with Federico Chiesa making his Anfield debut.

The Italian international has taken his time in getting match fit for the Reds since signing for Liverpool in the summer from Juventus, with Chiesa now ready to feature for Arne Slot’s side after making his debut midweek in the UEFA Champions League.

With Chiesa already stating how much he loves Anfield and the atmosphere Liverpool fans generated on Saturday, the 26-year-old winger is making all the right moves off the pitch in his bid to become a favourite with supporters.

Chiesa lauds Luis Diaz after ‘fantastic’ Liverpool display vs Bournemouth

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Chiesa was full of praise for Luis Diaz after the Colombian’s performance against Bournemouth, with the attacker scoring a brace to take his Premier League tally for the season to five already.

Diaz has been arguably Liverpool’s best player this season with the former FC Porto man thriving under Slot, and new signing Chiesa has loved what he’s seen from his new teammate since joining the Reds this summer.

Chiesa said when asked about Diaz’s performance for Liverpool against Bournemouth and the winger’s form in general this season for the Reds: “He is playing really good, but I think all the team has played really good today.

“Everyone has just performed so well and we needed to bounce back from a bad result against Nottingham and today we showed, as I said before, a great performance and Lucho scored a fantastic brace. But the team played so well today, everyone had a great game so congratulations to all.”

Diaz is finally hitting his best form for Liverpool

Diaz has always shown signs of promise at Liverpool as a potential successor to Sadio Mane, yet the numbers have never been convincing enough for the 27-year-old to prove to supporters he can be the real deal.

This season, though, has seen the Colombian international finally hit the levels of form that have made Diaz one of the best wingers in the Premier League and a serious weapon in Liverpool’s arsenal at long last.

Diaz has made the left-wing position his own this season, and with the attacker only getting better with each game, the forward will be a key asset for Liverpool in their quest to challenge for the Premier League and to win silverware domestically and in Europe.
