Liverpool are set to be active in the transfer market in the upcoming windows after refraining from splashing the cash in the summer.

Arne Slot took a measured approach as opted to stick to his guns, with Federico Chiesa the only player who came through the door at Anfield in the summer transfer window.

However, he has now had enough time to evaluate his squad and could play his cards in the months ahead, although it remains to be seen if he takes action in January.

And if reports are to be believed, one of Liverpool’s attacking targets could be in the market mid-way through the season.

Liverpool’s attack is widely believed to be their strongest area on the pitch as they have six options on paper.

However, that hasn’t prevented a host of attacking players from being linked with a move to Anfield.

Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz is one such name, with the Turkish international enjoying a fantastic season in Turin under Thiago Motta.

Yildiz has attracted interest from Liverpool but his £66m price tag could be a stumbling block for the Reds as they continue to evaluate their options.

A report from Correira dello Sport states that the Bianconeri are willing to offload the 19-year-old in January as they aim to raise funds to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United.

Tonali is no stranger to Italy and it remains to be seen if he returns home, but the Serie A giants are willing to offload one of their prized assets to make it happen.

The report states that Juventus are willing to part with Yildiz for around £32m in January, which is a fraction of what they demanded a few months ago.

With Francisco Conceicao and Nico Gonzalez already at the club, the Bianconeri believe they are adequately stacked in that position, which has led to them changing their stance on Yildiz.

Do Liverpool need Yildiz?

Yildiz has been described as an ‘extraordinary’ player by former Juventus boss Max Allegri and has featured in every league game for the club this season.

Liverpool already have six attackers vying for three spots, so it remains to be seen if they pursue a move for the young Turk in the coming months.

One look at the current squad will tell you that he isn’t a necessity by any stretch of the imagination, but the Reds have always remained alert to market opportunities and could pounce if they decide Yildiz is a player they can’t afford to miss out on.
