Mohamed Salah is one of the best attackers in the world, yet Liverpool have a big problem surrounding their star forward.

The Egyptian international’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season, with Saudi Arabian clubs already preparing a contract for Salah that could see the 32-year-old winger leave the Premier League for the Middle East next year.

With Alisson Becker praising how ‘perfect’ Salah was for Liverpool in last night’s win against Bologna, replacing the former AS Roma star could be an impossible task for the Reds given the forward’s world-class qualities.

Yet Liverpool might now have identified a player who could succeed Salah at Anfield.

Liverpool eyeing Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi

According to Bild, Liverpool are viewing Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement for Salah, with the forward scoring a hat-trick this week in the UEFA Champions League against Celtic.

As per the report, Adeyemi is a forward with ‘crazy speed’ with the Germany international enjoying one of his best games yet for Dortmund against the Hoops on Tuesday night in what was to be a 7-1 win for the Black and Yellow.

Liverpool have been linked with Adeyemi before with the former RB Salzburg star a player who was on Jurgen Klopp’s radar before the 22-year-old attacker opted to join Dortmund having made a name for himself in Austria.

And heading into next summer, there’s now a chance that Adeyemi could finally end up making the move to Liverpool, with the Germany international viewed as a good option to replace Salah if the winger leaves Anfield.

Adeyemi could be a good option to replace Salah at Anfield

With five goals and five assists in all competitions this season, Adeyemi has been at his absolute best since joining Dortmund in 2022, with the 22-year-old finally showing signs of his incredible potential.

And if Adeyemi can end the season with a high enough goal contribution record, there’s a real chance that Liverpool could make a move for the versatile attacker to replace Salah at Anfield.

Indeed, no player on the planet will be able to live up to what Salah has achieved at Liverpool, but given Adeyemi’s form and age, the German would be a sensible option for Arne Slot’s side heading into 2025.
