Report: Liverpool now scouting Chelsea player in person as they consider him as Alexander-Arnold replacement

Liverpool’s continued failure to agree a new contract with Trent Alexander-Arnold is causing the club to consider future options in case the England man now leaves.
Real Madrid are super keen on signing Alexander-Arnold and they’ve even used Jude Bellingham to talk to the Liverpool man as they try to convince him to move to Spain.
There have been suggestions that Liverpool are still hopeful of Alexander-Arnold signing a new deal and as yet, there is no panic from inside Anfield.
However, that doesn’t mean that contingency plans aren’t being put in place.
And according to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, Liverpool are actually keeping close tabs on one Chelsea youngster as a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold.

According to Delaney, writing in his latest newsletter for The Independent, Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Chelsea youngster, Josh Acheampong.
It’s claimed that Liverpool – along with Real Madrid – watched Acheampong in action recently when England played the Czech Republic under-20s.
Acheampong has already made his debut for the Chelsea first-team and is expected to have a successful career.
Indeed, Acheampong is considered one of the top young talents at Chelsea and is very much rated by Enzo Maresca.
“I really like Josh Acheampong. In my opinion, he has the potential to become a top defender in the future,” Maresca is quoted as saying.
Josh Acheampong cannot replace Alexander-Arnold right now
While Chelsea might rate Acheampong highly and feel he’s one for the future, he’s simply not going to be able to replace Alexander-Arnold right now.
Sure, he might go on to have a superb career in the game and prove to be a fine player.
But if Liverpool do somehow lose Alexander-Arnold, then it’s either put all our faith in Conor Bradley, or go out and land someone else who is world-class.
Right now, a teenager from Chelsea is not going to cut it for Liverpool fans.
