The future of Trent Alexander-Arnold remains very much up in the air at Liverpool right now as Real Madrid continue to track the impressive right-back.

Alexander-Arnold is very much wanted in Madrid and there has been no hiding that in reports from Spain in recent months.

Indeed, Jude Bellingham is even thought to have spoken to Alexander-Arnold, while Mark Lawrenson has suggested that Alexander-Arnold has already decided to join Madrid.

Liverpool, for what it’s worth, are said to be calm over the situation and are hopeful that the defender will sign a new deal.

However, according to a report from GiveMeSport, Real Madrid are now changing tactics as they bid to land one of Europe’s top full-backs.

Real Madrid change tact in bid to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold

According to the report from GMS, Madrid had previously been willing to let Liverpool have a run at Alexander-Arnold in terms of getting a new deal agreed.

The Spanish outfit were believed to be willing to let that play out until after Christmas, at which point they’d then turn on the charm to sign him.

However, it’s now claimed that Madrid might have gone a bit earlier in their push as they use Spanish outlet Marca to drum up support and unsettle Alexander-Arnold.

Indeed, just this week, Marca suggested a deal for Madrid to sign the Liverpool man was effectively done.

Of course, Arne Slot has played that down but it very much looks like Madrid are on the offensive.

Liverpool have to get moving

We’ve all seen over the years that when Real Madrid set their sights on signing someone, they rarely miss the boat.

Now, with the pressure starting to get ramped up when it comes to Alexander-Arnold, it looks like the Reds board might need to get a move on.

We’d all love to see Alexander-Arnold sign a new deal but with Madrid now ramping up efforts through national media channels, it looks like the race is on.

Liverpool and FSG, then, have to get moving on this one or face up to losing one of the best players the club has produced in decades.
