Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of three Liverpool superstars who is on course to leave the club at the end of the season due to their contract expiring.

Links to Real Madrid have been persistent surrounding Alexander-Arnold with the England international believed to be a target for the Spanish giants as a potential replacement for long-term right-back Dani Carvajal.

And with Alexander-Arnold flourishing in the Premier League this season under Arne Slot, the Liverpool defender is not helping himself in intensifying Madrid’s interest in the defender, with the right-back yet to make a clear decision on his future.

Yet a new update could provide some light on where Alexander-Arnold could actually end up next year.

Alexander-Arnold won’t make ‘extreme’ Liverpool contract demands

According to GiveMeSport, there is ‘no chance’ Alexander-Arnold will take Liverpool for granted in negotiations over a new contract, with the defender unwilling to make ‘extreme’ demands given his love for the Reds.

Earning close to £200,000-a-week already as per Salary Sport, Alexander-Arnold is already one of Liverpool’s top-earners having emerged from the club’s academy and developing into one of the best fullbacks on the planet.

However, there’s a real chance that Alexander-Arnold could make demands close to £300,000-a-week given how much the likes of Mohamed Salah are currently making at Liverpool, even with the England international not a regular goalscorer.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold staying at Liverpool would be huge for the club and the community the Reds connect with given how important the 25-year-old is beyond Anfield, and this update could suggest that the fullback will stay if the right offer is made.

Alexander-Arnold needs to make the right decision and sign for Liverpool

Alexander-Arnold is one of Liverpool’s most important players having been an integral first-team player since he was a teenager and reinventing the right-back position into something incredible in the process.

And the defender likely knows deep down that the right decision is to sign a new contract with Liverpool and to continue his legacy with the Reds in this new and exciting era under Slot, where success and silverware seems certain.

Alexander-Arnold has developed into a leader for Liverpool and a symbol for the club beyond the pitch, and the defender knows that staying on Merseyside with his boyhood club is the right decision at this stage in his career.
