With all ten Premier League games set to kick off at the same time, football fans across the world are set for a treat, with Liverpool looking to make it successive wins in the competition after their emphatic 6-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur.
And one of their fan favourites from the Jurgen Klopp era is back in Liverpool ahead of their game against the Foxes.
Roberto Firmino returns to Liverpool ahead of Leicester City clash
Roberto Firmino was one of the most important players of Klopp’s all-conquering team as he led the line and put in the hard yards for the team.
The likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane thrived either side of the Brazilian due to his unselfish game play and technical brilliance as he made the false nine position his own at Anfield.
Firmino left Liverpool in the summer of 2023 as he joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli on a free transfer, but he will be remembered at Anfield for years to come for what he did for the club.
His Instagram activity suggests he’s back in Merseyside as he posted a picture alongside former Liverpool teammate and compatriot Alisson Becker.
Their respective partners Larissa Firmino and Natalia Becker were also spotted in the picture as they got together to celebrate Christmas.
If Firmino is still in the city, it remains to be seen if he will attend the Reds’ Premier League clash against Leicester later today.
Firmino’s record for Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk named Firmino as his best-ever Liverpool teammate, which goes to show just how highly the Brazilian was rated during his time at Anfield.

He held everything together on both ends of the pitch and his skillset allowed the likes of Salah and Mane, among others, to flourish in terms of their end product.
Firmino currently captain Al-Ahli and is spending the latter part of his senior career away from the spotlight, a career path trodden by former Reds such as Fabinho, Mane, Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson briefly.
