Liverpool secured one of their biggest wins of the Premier League season on Saturday with a 2-0 result against Aston Villa.
Manchester City’s loss earlier in the day meant Liverpool went five points clear at the top of the Premier League standings, with the Reds looking in great form heading into the November international break and the festive period.

One blow for Liverpool was Trent Alexander-Arnold coming off injured, with the defender pulling his hamstring as Conor Bradley replaced the England international against Villa, with the fullback since pulling out of Lee Carsley’s squad for this month’s fixtures.
Yet it appears that Alexander-Arnold’s injury is not as bad as first feared.
Alexander-Arnold to be sidelined ‘for a couple of weeks’
According to the Times’ Paul Joyce, Alexander-Arnold is set for a spell out on the treatment table for ‘a couple of weeks’ after suffering a hamstring injury against Villa, though the right-back could be back in time for Liverpool’s next fixture against Southampton.
Joyce posted: “Trent Alexander-Arnold set to be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. Avoided more serious damage by coming off early against Aston Villa. Not ruled out of Southampton on Nov 24 ahead of Real Madrid [Nov 27] and Man City [Dec 1] games.”

With Liverpool facing some huge games after the international break against the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Newcastle United, Alexander-Arnold being available for these games will be key in Slot’s side maintaining their current form.
And with Alexander-Arnold set for a two-week break during the international window, the defender could be back better than ever this season ahead of facing Southampton at the end of this month, a game that will be huge for the Reds.
Losing Alexander-Arnold over the festive period would be a huge blow
Although Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold has been a major talking point in recent weeks, these rumours have done little to take away from the fact that the 26-year-old has been exceptional this season.
The Liverpool defender has been nothing short of brilliant for the Reds under Slot, with Alexander-Arnold showing why he’s one of the best fullbacks in the world and a key clog for the Anfield side this season.
And Alexander-Arnold being ruled out injured for Liverpool would have been a seismic blow for the Merseyside giants, who so far this season have been lucky when it comes to the fitness of their key outfield players.
