Reports from Spain are suggesting Martin Zubimendi has some regrets.

According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Martin Zubimendi regrets staying in San Sebastián this summer and hopes Liverpool FC will make another approach for him in the January winter transfer window. The ball is reportedly in Liverpool's court for the move to happen.

In case you forgot, a transfer was nearly completed in the summer, with personal terms agreed. All that was needed was for Zubimendi to trigger his 60 million release clause. However, he ultimately passed on the move, rejecting a huge pay raise to stay at his hometown club.

However, after six games, they have one win, one draw, and four defeats in La Liga and sit one point above the relegation zone. Perhaps, this was predictable after Soceidad also lost key players in Mikel Merino and Robin LeNormand.

With Ryan Gravenberch in the form of his life in the moment and looking like a potential world-beater at the position, it may be tempting to pass on revisiting this deal, but Gravy and Mac Allister can't possibly play every single game. If there's a deal to be done, it's worth looking at it again.
