The forward gave an interview before the game against West Ham.

In terms of times to start at a club, a good one would be coming into Liverpool last season to help them overperform and end up in fourth place. Sophie Roman Haug joined the Reds at the start of last season from Roma and made a huge impact. She proved an invaluable part of Matt Beard's team and helped them find the goals that they were lacking in their first season back in the Women's Super League.

She jumped back into high gear in the first game of the season, scoring a towering header against Leicester City. The game ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.

"It's nice to get a good start and get the goals coming that early on," Roman Haug said, "so hopefully there's more to come. I always want to get on the end of crosses and however I can help the team I will do. Hopefully I can get a lot of goals and assists again this year."

Last week was also the team's first game played at their new home, St. Helens Stadium. Though the outcome wasn't what they would have wanted, Roman Haug said it was still a highlight to step onto the new pitch.

"It was amazing. Our new stadium is really nice and our fans are unbelievable so we are really happy to be at our new home and we look forward to many games there," she said.

The Reds' next game is on Sunday when they travel to West Ham, a match which Roman Haug knows can be tricky.

"West Ham away is always tough but we had some great results away from home last season. They had a tough opening game so we expect them to come at us with all they have but we are ready, we are looking forward to it and we have had a good week on the training pitch so we are going for the three points."

Hopefully on Sunday the Reds will earn their first win of the season and grab a much-needed three points;
