Liverpool could only muster a draw against Nottingham Forest as the Reds missed out on the chance to go nine points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Diogo Jota salvaged a point for Liverpool with a well-taken header having only just come on as a substitute, a decision Arne Slot insists wasn’t a ‘masterclass’ tactic the Dutchman had cooked up on the spot.

As for the Garibaldi, the City Ground side showed why they’re in the Premier League title race as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side gave an excellent account of their credentials against the Reds, with Slot pleased to see Liverpool give Forest so many problems in the second-half.

Yet Peter Crouch was impressed by one Forest player who Liverpool are believed to be interested in signing.

Speaking to TNT Sports, the former Liverpool striker lauded Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White as ‘magic’, with the England international one of the key reasons behind the City Ground side’s incredible form this season.

Liverpool have been rumoured with a move for Gibbs-White since the opening of the January transfer window with the 25-year-old star attracting plenty of interest from some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League this season.

And for Crouch, the pundit has been very impressed with what he’s seen from Gibbs-White this season, with the former Wolves man once again in good form last night for Forest in their epic draw against Liverpool.

Crouch said pre-match: “I remember watching him at Wolves as a young 17-year-old and I thought: ‘This player is magic.’ It’s taken him slightly longer to become the player I thought he would be, but now he looks like the real deal.”

Who else have Liverpool been linked with this January?

The January transfer window has been a quiet affair for Liverpool in terms of actual moves, with Calvin Ramsay’s loan move to Kilmarnock remaining the only first-team deal the Reds have made this winter since the market opened.

Yet that hasn’t stopped the Anfield side from being linked with some interesting names, with Liverpool still interested in signing Omar Marmoush despite Manchester City closing in on a deal for the Eintracht Frankfurt star.

With Liverpool also eyeing Greek wonderkid Stefanos Tzimas, there is still time for the Merseyside giants to make a move or two this January, and more bodies could be key for Slot in his bid to win the Premier League this season.
