'There's interest': Micahel Owen says he 'can't see' £64m Liverpool star playing at Anfield next season

Liverpool are set for a transformative summer transfer window, with big plans in the pipeline for the Reds.
The likely win of the Premier League title will go a long way in helping Arne Slot secure the players he wants to take Liverpool one step further next season, with success in the UEFA Champions League and domestic cups a priority.
With Liverpool eyeing signings in five positions, a lot of movement is expected, with big players expected to join as well as to leave as Slot looks set to overtake the biggest squad overhaul at Anfield in quite some years.
And Michael Owen now thinks one of Liverpool’s most valuable players will be allowed to leave and won’t be seen playing at Anfield again after this season.

Darwin Nunez tipped to leave Liverpool for good this summer
Speaking on TalkSport, the former Liverpool attacker made the safe prediction that Darwin Nunez will leave the Merseyside club this summer, with the Uruguay international once again struggling for form this season.
Owen said: “I can’t see Darwin Nunez in a Liverpool shirt next season, personally. I think there’s interest in him as well from one or two Premier League teams, of course there’s foreign interest as well, so I can’t see Darwin being a Liverpool player next season.”
Nunez has been linked with a move away from Liverpool leading into the summer transfer window with the striker simply failing to reach the levels many expected from the £64m signing from Benfica, who in his third season with the Reds is still struggling to be consistent.
Indeed, with Liverpool interested in Alexander Isak, selling Nunez to make room for the Newcastle striker would make logical sense, with the main question now being how much do the Reds realistically demand for the Anfield no. 9 to leave this summer.
Liverpool might need to cut their losses with Darwin Nunez
Having signed for one of the biggest transfer fees in Liverpool’s history, the board are fully aware that they will not break even with Nunez unless the attacker goes on one of the most unlikely goalscoring sprees between now and the end of the season.
As a result, Liverpool might need to cut their losses with Nuenz and accept a transfer fee way below the attacker’s market value, with the South American simply not worth keeping around if plans are in place to replace the forward.
Interest in Nunez already will help Liverpool, though, and if a Premier League team is willing to put up a good fee for the forward, the Reds could end up recouping a good amount for the 25-year-old attacker in the summer.
