Liverpool sit top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings, with Arne Slot proving to be a revelation for the Reds.
The Dutch manager has evolved the Anfield side with the tools left behind by Jurgen Klopp, with Ryan Gravenberch hailed as an 'artist' after rediscovering his form with Liverpool with Slot also getting a lot of mileage out of other players who last season could have been considered surplus to requirements.
Another player who has greatly benefited from Slot’s arrival is Luis Diaz, with the Liverpool winger now attracting interest from FC Barcelona after a fantastic season with the Merseyside giants operating as a left-winger and as a no. 9.
Indeed, Diaz has been a key forward for Liverpool this campaign under Slot, and the forward has now shared what he’s noticed about playing at Anfield for the Reds.

Diaz hails Liverpool fan for creating ‘special atmosphere’
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Colombian international noted how ‘special’ the atmosphere at Anfield has become with the supporters throwing all their passion behind the club and team this season.
With former France international Mathieu Valbuena lauding Anfield as 'legendary', Liverpool’s home stadium has more than earned its reputation as one of the most iconic grounds in football and a hostile environment for rival teams to play at.
And Diaz has shared how much he loves Anfield, with the winger saying: "Anfield is just so great. It has such a special atmosphere, which is unique to the stadium. And the fans here are just so passionate in their support of the team and their club.
“Every game here is a cauldron of atmosphere. They cheer and shout and fill the place with that special energy that as a team you really need. As a player, you feed off it to really motivate yourself and get up for the game and it helps you to get out there, start well and really take the game to the opposition."
Diaz also reveals ‘working’ on his finishing in training
Diaz is on course to enjoy his best season yet with Liverpool, with the winger becoming a key player for the Reds, and the former FC Porto man has now shared that he has in fact been working on his training.
Games played | Goals | Assists | |
Premier League | 20 | 8 | 2 |
League Cup | 2 | 1 | 0 |
UEFA Champions League | 7 | 3 | 1 |
Total | 29 | 13 | 3 |
Diaz said when asked about what he wants to achieve this season: "Achieving my best total – that's the idea. I've been working on it [finishing] since coming back into pre-season training. That's the plan, to keep improving, to keep performing well and always trying to ensure that the next season is even better.”
With Diaz already approaching 15 goals in all competitions for Liverpool all signs point towards the Colombian having his best year yet with the Reds, and the former Porto man will want to show how far he’s come this campaign under Slot.
