Liverpool take on Chelsea tomorrow looking to kickstart a tough run of fixtures with another win and continue their fine start to the season.

Arne Slot has enjoyed the ideal start to life as Reds boss but there is no denying that the fixture list has been somewhat kind to the new Liverpool boss.

That all changes tomorrow, though, as the Reds welcome Chelsea and Enzo Maresca to Anfield.

Maresca is slowly but surely imparting his ways on Chelsea and at times this season, led by Cole Palmer, the Blues have looked sensational going forward.

And according to Slot, Chelsea’s attacking strengths are not to be ignored.

Arne Slot makes admission about facing Chelsea

Speaking in his presser ahead of facing Chelsea, Slot was asked about the importance of being defensively sound against the Blues.

And according to Slot, it is vital that the Reds keep the Chelsea forwards at bay.

“Very important. If you want to achieve something in this season, you need to be defensively really stable. We’ve been that until now. Again, [the] fixture list we have to take into account as well,” Slot said.

“And now we face even better players because I agree with you that Chelsea, like Man United, has a lot, a lot, a lot of great individuals who we have to try to manage, to control. That’s not what one player does, that’s what we have to do as a team.

“But we must not forget to create our own chances as well, because if you want to win you need to score as well.

“Fortunately and the good thing for us is that we have players that can score goals. [I’m] looking forward to a very interesting game on Sunday.”

Liverpool need to get at Chelsea

Slot does speak about this here but if Liverpool can get at the Chelsea backline with the forwards we have on display then it should be a winnable game.

Yes, the likes of Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson are playing well. But right now, Liverpool are ahead of the Blues in development and should have enough.

Slot will want the likes of Salah, Jota and Diaz to cause Chelsea problems and with that, it makes the Liverpool defence’s lives easier as well.

Put simply, if Salah and co turn up and produce, then it’s hard to see anything but a Reds win here.
