Liverpool maintained their winning run in the Premier League with a nervy 1-0 result away to Crystal Palace.

Diogo Jota’s ninth-minute goal was all it took for Liverpool to secure the three points as the Reds dug deep to keep a clean sheet against the Eagles, with Alisson Becker going off injured with ten minutes to go.

With Alexis Mac Allister also picking up a fitness issue, Liverpool emerged from south London battered and bruised but ultimately the victors as the Reds kept their slender lead at the top of the Premier League standings intact.

And Jason Cundy has now named which Liverpool player was largely responsible for the win at Palace.

Alisson Becker praised after Liverpool win vs Crystal Palace

Speaking on TalkSport, the pundit lauded Alisson for his performance against the Eagles, with Alisson again showing why he’s arguably the best goalkeeper in the world with an impressive first-half display that kept Liverpool in the game.

Even after going off injured, Alisson showed why he is one of Liverpool’s most important players, and Cundy believes the win could go down to the Brazilian international’s performances at Selhurst Park for the Reds.

Cundy said when talking about Liverpool’s win and Alisson’s role in the result: "Even though you always knew Liverpool would win it, Palace were always in the game. And that should not have been the case.

“Liverpool were much the better team, but some of the saves before half-time Alisson made down to his right-hand side were good saves. Then you have got Eddie Nketiah going through, save, side-foot pass, straight to the keeper. Eze had a great chance."

Liverpool will hope Alisson’s injury isn’t serious

Alisson’s injury record has already been quite questionable this season with the former AS Roma star missing two games due to a thigh problem, with the Brazilian seemingly aggravating this previous issue against Palace.

With the international break now here, though, Liverpool have time to fully asses Alisson’s injury ahead of the Reds’ Premier League tie against Chelsea later this month, a tie that Arne Slot will already be thinking about.

And Liverpool will hope Alisson is available to face the Blues, with Liverpool in good form and on the hunt for another statement win with Chelsea in good form this season under new manager Enzo Maresca.
