Three names on Manchester City transfer shortlist as club send delegation

Manchester City have three names on their transfer shortlist, with a replacement for Ederson now deemed a priority.
That's according to Foot Mercato, who report that Manchester City's 'leaders' have 'launched major searches' in Serie A.
They report that Manchester City want to turn a page and refresh the squad this month and in the near future, with new faces likely to arrive after a disastrous season for the club.
Goalkeeper Ederson is being singled out as a major problem and City are currently looking at three players in Serie A as potential replacements. These are Zion Suzuki from Parma, Vanja Milinković-Savić from Torino, 'but especially' Michele Di Gregorio at Juventus.
He's been the 'priority' for several months, according to FM's information and 'preliminary contacts' already took place at the end of December. Juventus are not currently interested in a sale, but discussions continue and the Italian side 'could crack' if a good offer is made.
Because that wouldn't be simple, Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the other options such as Suzuki and Milinković-Savić.
In fact, and again according to FM's information, a 'small delegation' was sent from the Etihad to Turin last weekend to see Torino take on Parma and watch both players. Both goalkeepers 'distinguished themselves' in that game, which finished 0-0.
The question is whether Manchester City are genuinely pushing for any of the three players named.
For now, it appears like educated guessing based on some Manchester City scouts being spotted at a game as Ederson continues to be criticised and linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in England.
It's also debatable why they'd be pushing for a new signing when they've seemed more than happy with Stefan Ortega as Ederson's replacement before now and Pep Guardiola has publicly backed the German on more than one occasion too.
We'd argue that money needs to be spent in other areas first and so will take this with a hearty pinch of salt for now.
