New signing spotted in Rangers jersey

Clinton Nsiala is a highly-regarded young French defender who came through the youth ranks at AC Milan.

The Rossoneri have a long and famous history of centre-backs with the club who brought us Franco Baresi, Alessandro Costacurta and Alessandro Nesta moulding some of football's greatest ever defenders.

Indeed it was Paolo Maldini who helped discover Clinton Nsiala, who was brought to Milan from French club Nantes in 2021.

Now joining the Gers in the search of first-team football, the defender has been snapped wearing a Rangers jersey for the first time after officially moving to the club on July 1st.

Nsiala also wasted no time whatsoever in getting to know his new teammates as he was put through his paces at Auchenhowie.

Nsiala details Clement transfer role

Clinton Nsiala has also been speaking about his decision to move to Rangers for the first time.

The centre-back has just spent the last three years in one of football's elite environments and is hoping to translate that experience onto the pitch in Glasgow.

Admitting that there is a 'huge sense sense of pride' in joining Rangers, the defender has also been speaking about the role Philippe Clement played in convincing him to join.

"First of all, there's a huge sense of pride," Nsiala told Rangers.

"This club is legendary, with lots of titles and lots of prestige, including in Europe. I'm honestly very honoured to sign for this club.

"I know it's a club that the fans are very committed to. They put so much heart in getting behind the team in every competition.

"I feel a big sense of responsibility, and lots of anticipation and excitement about experiencing the atmosphere too.

"I know he [the manager] coached at Monaco, as well as in the Belgian league. He always puts a lot of faith in young players. As a young player, that was a big factor for me in my decision to come to Glasgow.

"It helps to have a coach like Philippe Clement. He gives a lot of support to young players, and that doesn't make it feel like a big step.

"Having a coach like that will help me progress, so I'm not focused on the step up from academy to senior level."

Whilst Nsiala played almost 70 times for the Milan B team, the defender is yet to make his top team debut in professional football.
