The very latest Rangers transfers news and rumours on January 10 including updates on Cyriel Dessers, Lyall Cameron and Sasa Zdjelar.

Dessers tug of war begins

Cyriel Dessers has been out of the Rangers XI since Hamza Igamane burst onto the scene and it comes at a point in time where the club could cash-in on the Nigerian.

Dessers’ goals last season were important but the striker has perhaps had his time at Ibrox.

Now Serie A sides Cagliari and Empoli are both vying for the hitman‘s signature with Gers hopeful of recouping some of the £4.5m they spent on the player in 2023.

Cameron to stay at Dundee

Rangers have an interest in Lyall Cameron and it seems the feeling is mutual after the midfielder issued a come and get me plea – in his own way – to the Ibrox outfit.

Tony Docherty last night revealed he hopes to keep Cameron and it is understood the plan is indeed for the playmaker to remain at Dens Park at least until the summer when plans may change.

It is understood the 22-year-old has MLS clubs sniffing around as well as sides in the EFL Championship who could potentially rival Rangers should they wish to make an official move in six months.

Zdjelar asked about by Gers

Serbian international Sasa Zdjelar is on the Rangers radar and it has been reported by the Daily Mail this week that they have ‘asked’ his current club, CSKA Moscow about his availability.

The midfielder is a defensive player but a versatile one and he can also play at centre-half where the Light Blues are seeking reinforcements.

A UEFA ruling could even potentially help Gers land the player on a free.

It states that players playing in the Russian division could rip up their deals and suspend their contracts due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

That would be a significant benefit to Rangers who are interested in the 29-year-old but would be unlikely to spend big on a player of his stature and age.
