Brighton forward Abdallah Sima has the entire Rangers support on strings amid continuing transfer links.

The Senegalese attacker, 22, has sparked yet more potential transfer excitement by claiming there is 'more to come' with a highlight reel on Instagram.

It appears to be the only Instagram highlight reel which has gone down positively in Govan this year.

Abdallah Sima himself has always been clear that he'd love a return to Glasgow whilst the Gers have pretty much confirmed they'd welcome him with open arms.

The sticking point has always been Brighton's potential asking price but now the south coast club's transfer business is ramping right up under their new manager.

And it could have potentially huge ramifications at Ibrox.

Brighton line up double £33m deal

Brighton made a bold appointment in St Pauli manager Fabian Hurzeler this summer and they're certainly making some bold moves in the transfer market.

After the £33m signing of Yankubu Minteh – a player who consequently plays in Sima's position – the Brighton boardroom insisted they'd be backing the Premier League's youngest ever coach this summer.

And back Hurzeler they certainly are.

Having just had a £30m bid for Leeds United attacker Georginio Rutter turned down, the Seagulls are pressing on with investment across their squad.

According to reports Brighton are closing in on a €30m (£25.4m) deal for Feyenoord midfielder Mats Weiffer.

Whilst the Dutch defensive midfielder doesn't play in Abdallah Sima's position, it's yet more investment at the Premier League side.

Throw in additional reports that Brighton are closing in on a €9m (£7.6m) for IFK Goteburg Malick Yalcouyé and suddenly the south coast club's summer is kicking into gear.

Sima Rangers saga still has chapters to be written

Whilst these two players would be signed for the Brighton midfield, it's evidence of the Seagulls kicking their summer transfer plans up a notch.

The fact that Abdallah Sima has posted on Instagram at the same time is certainly interesting from a Rangers point of view.

Throw in that hunger to return to Ibrox and it is fair to say that Sima moving back to Glasgow next season is anything but off the table.

It all comes down to the sorts of fees involved in any transfer and we'll be watching the situation closely ahead of the Champions League qualifiers.

The finances involved in qualification for the tournament would pay the fee and then some but ironically, without the attacker the chances of qualification certainly diminish.

Watch this space.
