Stoke City are poised to appoint Narcis Pelach in time for Friday’s home clash against Hull City, as per a report by StokeOnTrentLive.

Stoke City have placed Alex Morris and Ryan Shawcross in interim charge for the time being. The pair will take their Carabao Cup clash against League Two side Fleetwood Town this evening.

The Potters have made the surprise decision to cut ties with Steven Schumacher this week. They have won two of their first five games of the new Championship season and are sat in 13th place in the table.

Oxford United beat them 1-0 last time out and that proved to be the final straw for the former Plymouth Argyle man and his staff. In this latest update regarding his replacement, StokeOnTrentLive claim they are ‘likely’ to have Pelach in place by the time Hull City visit the Bet365 Stadium.

The 36-year-old has been identified as their top target and is currently the first-team coach of fellow second tier outfit Norwich City.
