"Complete lie" – Sunderland man hits back at journalist for his ridiculous transfer claim

Three days ago, Sunderland announced that Nazariy Rusyn had completed a loan move to Hajduk Split until the end of this season.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian thanked the Black Cats for letting him join Hajduk Split and said he’s eager to get started at his new club.
The Sunderland owned player has given an interview to Dynamo Mania to hit back at journalist Igor Tsyganskiy.
The journalist had earlier suggested the English club decided to let Rusyn go because Sunderland president Kyril Louis-Dreyfus didn’t like his pro-Ukraine stance.
The attacker has rubbished this claim made by the journalist and also went on to insist the Championship side’s president treated him “with respect”.
“This is a complete lie. I have never said that to anyone. Everyone at Sunderland supports Ukraine. And I had a good relationship with the president. I don’t know what his roots are there. But he has always treated me with respect,” he said.
The striker arrived at Sunderland from Zorya Luhansk in the summer of 2023. He clocked in just over 1,000 minutes from 32 games of which 162 minutes are from this season.
Régis Le Bris’ decision to not use the attacker regularly this season convinced him to go out on loan to the Croatian club. Rusyn will be hoping things would be better for him under Gennaro Gattuso’s orders at Hajduk Split.
The Ukraine comments are clearly ridiculous and baseless and it’s a credit to the player that he’s made the effort to rubbish them so clearly.
