"Will make an offer" – Ex-scout tips Tottenham to make huge £200k-per-week offer to 'world-class' player

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a pivotal summer transfer window, with several crucial decisions set to shape the squad's future.
One of the key matters under consideration is the future of vice-captain Cristian Romero, whose long-term role at the club remains uncertain.
The Argentine centre-back, whose contract with Spurs runs until 2027, has drawn interest from European powerhouse Real Madrid.
However, Tottenham are keen to hold onto their defensive talisman and are reportedly prepared to offer a substantial new contract to secure his commitment.
King tips Tottenham to offer Cristian Romero a bumper contract
Former Spurs scout Bryan King has tipped the North London club to offer Romero a £200,000-per-week deal, which would place him among the club's top earners alongside Son Heung-min.
King highlighted that while Romero is a world-class centre-back, his fitness issues and occasional inconsistency have been areas of concern.
However, his leadership and defensive capabilities make him an invaluable asset, prompting Spurs to make a significant financial effort to keep him at the club.
Speaking to Tottenham News, the pundit said:
"Spurs will need to offer Romero the kind of money Son Heung-min is on.
"Therefore, I imagine that Tottenham will make an offer of around £200,000-a-week. Romero is a World Cup winner, and although he is a bit of a loose cannon at times, he is a world-class player and on his day he is as good as any centre-back in the country.
"The biggest problem with Romero is his consistency and injury record. However, if he is going to be offered a new contract, he is going to be very well-paid, let's put it like that."
Romero's time at Spurs
Romero initially arrived at Tottenham on loan from Atalanta in 2021 before making his transfer permanent in 2022.
Since then, he has been a cornerstone of the Spurs' defence, earning praise for his aggressive playing style and fearless approach.
Ahead of the 2023–24 campaign, he was named vice-captain, reflecting his growing influence within the squad.
Despite his importance, injuries have hampered his season, with a hamstring problem keeping him sidelined for several months.
So far, the 26-year-old has made just 17 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal in the Premier League back in August.
Tottenham now face a major decision—securing Romero's long-term future would reinforce their defence, but a potential sale could free up significant funds for squad reinforcements.
The club has reportedly given the player an ultimatum to come to an agreement over a new deal by the end of season. If he does not, the club will look to cash in on him.
As the summer approaches, Spurs must weigh their options carefully in shaping the team's next steps.
