Chairman: Club To Work With Supporters Trust On Fan Advisory Board

Chairman and CEO Scott Duxbury has confirmed that the club has agreed in principle to work together with the Watford Supporters Trust towards the creation of a Fan Advisory Board.
Various fan-focused decisions will always be the subject of supporter discussion, with the name Fan Advisory Board very much a working title for now.
“It is one of the pillars we said we would build this year’s Fan Engagement Plan upon,” said the Chairman in his programme notes before Friday night’s victory over Oxford United at The Vic.
“It’s going to take some time to create and its inception provides many thought-provoking questions about structure, objectives and outcomes.
“These will be carefully considered by the Supporters Trust before being discussed again with the club with a view to confirming how those next steps might look.”
The Oxford game was the first at home to be shown on the main Sky Sports Football channel this season, although the new broadcasting deal has seen the majority of our fixtures available via Sky Sports +.
“It’s a version of making football more accessible, but we still believe there’s nothing like being at the match, which is why we’re determined to ensure our ticket prices remain competitive and affordable for a club which sits just on the outskirts of London,” the Chairman added.
“One item also mentioned on a solus basis in our Fan Engagement Plan was a consultation around the possible reconfiguration of seating within The Vic.
“Just like the consultation on our club crest a few years ago, this might lead to no change at all but we’d like to do all we can to explore the possibility of giving our supporters better matchday experiences.
“We remain hopeful that – after due consideration – we should be able to gather opinions from right across the Season Ticket holder base during the course of this season, notwithstanding the fact that this matter could also reasonably fall under the auspices of a Fan Advisory Board.”
