Onana unhappy at 'unacceptable' treatment in South Africa

Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana expressed his discontent at the treatment his nation faced in South Africa following their 0-0 draw with Eswatini in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Mbombela Stadium last week.

According to reports, as per GOAL.com, Cameroon arrived late at the OR Tambo airport, a day before their match against Eswatini while their connecting flight to Nelspruit was cancelled.

Cameroon were then tasked to take a four-hour bus trip from Johannesburg to Nelspruit, as they arrived at the grounds a few hours before the game.

“I would like to apologise, on behalf of the team, to our two teammates who arrived for the first time in the national team, namely Nathan and Danny,” Onana told the media, as per GOAL.

“They love their country very much. They showed patriotism.

“What they experienced in South Africa for their first call-up is unacceptable."
