Pressure on SuperSport and Cape Town City, Chiefs look to bounce back

SuperSport United and Cape Town City will both be feeling the relegation pressure when they meet in the pick of Betway Premiership matches this weekend, while heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs will yet again be seeking a "bounce back" victory.
Chiefs headline a trio of matches on Saturday, as they face Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban and look to shrug off a 2-0 loss at the hands of Richards Bay from just before the international break.
It's been a tough season for Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi, and he was recently given the dreaded "vote of confidence" by the club's management – often the precursor to a dismissal, unless results take a major turn for the better.
"All I can say is we have a technical team and a coach, they have the support to do the work, and then it's for them to do the work," said Jessica Motaung, the club's marketing and commercial director.
"We obviously know this is a long-term project. We didn't go into this expecting quick results, but certainly, lessons are being learned, and the necessary analysis is being done."
Saturday also features Chippa United looking to hand AmaZulu FC a third successive loss when the teams meet at Buffalo City Stadium, while Magesi FC will chase a hat-trick of wins when they welcome Stellenbosch FC to the Seshego Stadium.
Sunday is headlined by the clash between SuperSport United and Cape Town City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Matsatsantsa, on the back of three winless matches, have slipped into the relegation playoff berth and, as a result, have parted ways with veteran tactician Gavin Hunt.
City, meanwhile, have gone 10 matches without a win across all competitions (to sit just two points above SuperSport on the log), and they too have axed their coach, bidding farewell to Muhsin Ertugral.
This means Andre Arendse (United) and Diogo Peral (City) will be in charge on an interim basis when the teams meet in Polokwane – with the pressure of saving a top-flight status sitting squarely on their shoulders.
Sunday also sees Polokwane City looking to break their seven-game winless run in the league when they host Richards Bay at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, while TS Galaxy will look to extend their fine form (the Rockets have taken 10 points from the last 12 available) when they welcome Marumo Gallants to the Mbombela Stadium.
