Arsenal attacker Mariona Caldentey has pulled out of the Spain squad for Tuesday's friendly against Italy for personal reasons. Mariona didn't train when she first arrived with the Spain camp due to some small muscle discomfort but went on to star in their 1-1 draw with Canada on Friday.

Mariona has been given permission to attend tonight's Ballon D'Or ceremony as she is nominated but she will not return to the Spain camp thereafter and will be with family instead. At the moment, there is no indication that she won't be available for Sunday's trip to Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Denmark coach Andree Jeglertz has admitted that Kathrine Kuhl's situation at Arsenal is not ideal as far as he is concerned, but not terminal for her international career. He told DR, 'It's not a catastrophe, but it's clear that this situation can't continue for too long. We'll see what happens when the winter break ends.

'Of course, Kathrine needs to play football matches and perform for her own development. There's fierce competition within the national team, and she's well aware of that. However, I will never say that if you don't play for your club, you won't play for the national team.'
