Coventry City goalkeeper Oliver Dovin has spoken to the Swedish media about his summer transfer to the Championship side and what his goals are for this season.

The 22-year-old arrived at Coventry City in July after five seasons with Hammarby IF.

Speaking to Fotboll Direkt, Dovin was asked how he's settled into his new club and what he expects his new team to achieve this season. The youngster believes this is the next step in his career, and he’s tking it all in his stride for now.

Dovin went on to say the aim in this campaign is to make the playoffs as they look to get promotion to the Premier League.

"It’s been fun with a new environment. A new team, new coaches and a new league. I have already learned a lot and feel that I am taking the next step in my development. The goal is that we will try to be up there and fight for a playoff place. That’s what they’ve said is the goal for the season," said the Coventry summer signing.

The Sweden international has started Coventry City's opening four league games this season, but the club trail leaders Sunderland by eight points after an indifferent start. Their only victory this season came against Oxford United, followed by a draw with Bristol City.

Oliver Dovin is contracted to the English side until June 2028.
