Chelsea have been active in the departures department so far in the January transfer window.

Renato Veiga’s future has been in doubt, with Juventus interested in taking him to Turin, and talks have been held for the Portuguese defender.

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that discussions between Juve and Chelsea are taking place in an intense way, as Bianconeri sporting director Cristiano Guintoli was in London in an attempt to progress the negotiations.

During talks for the defender, Chelsea’s interest in Juventus' Douglas Luiz emerged, with the Brazilian having been linked with a move to Manchester City and Nottingham Forest in recent days.

The Blues are interested in signing Douglas Luiz on a dry loan deal, but for now the Old Lady only want a permanent sale.

This comes after it was reported yesterday that Juve were seeking help from an experienced intermediary during their meetings in London. While the exact name of the intermediary never emerged, Douglas Luiz is represented by Kia Joorabchian, who has been working with Juventus in the January transfer window.

There is a possibility that it is Joorabchian himself who is helping the Italian club with talks with Chelsea and it remains to be seen if Enzo Maresca’s side make a move for Douglas Luiz, especially if Veiga goes the other way.
