Chelsea have "big respect" for Armando Broja but don't believe he can be an important part of the squad in the future according to Fabrizio Romano.

Broja came through the academy at Chelsea, but he's struggled to make an impact in the first team, and was sent on loan to Everton for the season.

The Albania international has struggled with injury again, and he's been limited to just eight appearances in all competitions, and Everton were thought to be considering sending him back.in January.

Chelsea not counting on Broja

Broja has yet to score this season and really needs to get on top of the injury issues which have ruined the last few seasons for him.

The 23-year-old is one of a number of players expected to be sold this summer to raise funds and Romano has provided an update on his future.

"Chelsea have big respect for Armando Broja, coming from the academy, a good talent, but Chelsea do not believe he can be an important part of the squad in the future, I expect him to be on the market," he told his YouTube channel.

Broja, who is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2028 has just three goals in 38 appearances for the Blues and with the club almost certain to sign another striker his days in west London appear numbered.

Given how little football Broja's played it's difficult to imagine the Blues being able to command a huge fee, and it would seem unlikely they would get the £30m they were said to be looking for last summer.

Whilst Broja isn't part of the plans the Blues have been strongly linked with Liam Delap , with Benjamin Sesko also said to be of interest, although they face competition from Arsenal for the 21-year-old.

Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres are both said to be on Chelsea's shortlist of options, and are the calibre of the striker the club should be looking at signing.
