Here he goes
According to multiple reports, including an "exclusive" from Fabrizio Romano, Conor Gallagher has agreed terms with Atlético Madrid and is now set to fly to Spain on Monday to finalize the deal and go through all the formalities.
Atléti had supposedly set a deadline for this weekend to get this situation resolved: Chelsea had accepted their €40m (£33m) offer a while ago, but Gallagher evidently needed some convincing to choose to decamp his life to Madrid. A five-year deal awaits him in the Spanish capital.

Chelsea had made a token attempt at keeping our Academy midfielder by offering a two-year deal (plus an option) and threatening exile to the reserves at the same time if he didn't agree an extension. Not a great situation, that's for sure.
Meanwhile, Atléti had agreed a deal for Valencia midfield Javi Guerra, which seemed to put the Gallagher deal into doubt. It's unclear if they will still go through with that deal even if they do complete Gallagher's signing.
So, there could still be dramatic turns in this one, but barring any such silliness, it looks Conor's on his way...
