Crawley Town loanee Eddie Beach has returned to Chelsea, as confirmed by their official club website.

Crawley Town swooped to land the goalkeeper on a temporary basis last summer following their promotion from League Two. They went up along with Stockport County, Wrexham and Mansfield Town.

Beach, 21, went on to play two games for the League One side in all competitions and mainly provided competition between the sticks for Joe Wollacott and Jasper Sheik. He was due to spend the whole year with the Red Devils.

However, in this latest update regarding his situation, they have announced that he has now gone back to Stamford Bridge. Their website reads: “The club would like to thank Eddie for all of his efforts during his time at the club and would like to wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Crawley Town are sat in 21st place in the table and are five points from safety.

Crawley Town loan end for Eddie Beach

Beach wasn’t able to make the number one spot his own at Crawley Town so returning to Chelsea suits all parties involved.

The Blues now have a decision to make on what to do with the player between now and the end of the campaign.

He was on the books at Southampton from 2019 to 2022 before switching to Chelsea.

The ‘keeper has been loaned out to Chelmsford City and Gateshead in non-league to get some experience under his belt.

Beach was given the green light to link up with Crawley Town in August to further boost his development.

The Wales youth international is now back in London and his immediate future is now up in the air.

What now for Crawley Town?

Crawley Town have the chance to bring in some signings before the deadline.

Their boss Rob Elliot said last month, as per SussexWorld: “I think for everyone you want to try and improve the squad, and you want to try and help in areas where we are lacking, where the depth isn’t as strong but I think that comes with obviously balance as well, with finances and where we’re at as a club in terms of what we need.”

The Red Devils are back in action this weekend with a home clash against Burton Albion.

They lost 3-0 against Barnsley at Oakwell last time out and will want to bounce back.
