Sheffield United revive pursuit of League One star, Middlesbrough also keen

Sheffield United are back on the trail of Peterborough United forward Ricky-Jade Jones, according to the Express (Transfer news live, 14/01/25, 15:08).
Sheffield United have been linked with a host of new signings as they navigate a crucial January window. The SUFC ranks need to be bolstered to aid Chris Wilder’s push for promotion.
The Blades had a busy summer transfer window but the scale of the rebuild needed meant gaps have remained in the squad. And, with some notable injuries hitting since, Wilder needs to be backed this month.
Attacking additions are wanted and a number of names have been linked. Now though, one previous target is back on the radar.
According to the Express, Sheffield United have revived their long-term interest in Peterborough United speedster Ricky-Jade Jones.
The Blades are keen on the Posh forward once again but face competition. Middlesbrough are named as a new admirer, while Norwich City have also been linked, and Cardiff City are expected to bid again after seeing an offer knocked back.
Jones’ deal expires in the summer but the SUFC target’s status at London Road means Posh would be entitled to a sizeable compensation fee for his services.
