Madueke 'always full of confidence', through the good times, and the bad

The fire of self-belief
Noni Madueke's made a very good start to the season, his second full at Chelsea, establishing himself as the first-choice right winger, contributing with four league goals already (just one shy of last year's total), and earning his first international caps and, on Wednesday, his first international start.
He produced an impactful performance in said start, assisting England's opener and coming close to a goal and another assist as well. When the 22-year-old is feeling it, he can indeed be a game-changer.
But unfortunately, there are times when it's just not happening for him. They may not affect his confidence, but this inconsistencies do impact the game in both positive and negative ways.
"I have got a lot of belief in my ability. Even if it is not going so great, I still believe I can impact games. That is what I tried to do against Greece and thankfully it worked. Also at Chelsea … I have had some great moments this season and sometimes I have not been as good as I like but that is part of the process. I am always full of confidence and that does not change when I put on an England shirt."
Speaking of trusting the process, Madueke has had to explain his post-substitution bathroom routine as well. Perhaps now we can put that sill news-cycle behind us.
"I literally went down the tunnel to go to the toilet and I came back 30 seconds later. If you watch a lot of games when I come off I always go straight down the tunnel to go to the toilet. It is nothing major at all."
