Nicolas Jackson is currently struggling in front of goal, but he's highly appreciated around Chelsea for one big reason according to reports.
The Blues dropped more points on Tuesday night as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth, meaning they are now winless in their last five Premier League matches.
Chelsea have taken just three points from the last 15 and have dropped down to fifth in the league following Newcastle's win against Wolves on Wednesday evening.
Jackson highly appreciated around Chelsea
The last five games have followed a familiar pattern for Chelsea, with the Blues creating numerous chances but failing to take them.
Chelsea's attack was free flowing earlier in the season, but the goals have dried up for the Blues with just four in their last five matches, three scored by Cole Palmer and the other a free kick from Reece James.
Jackson, who has nine league goals this season has come in for criticism for missing chances, and Craig Burley fears he will continue to be wasteful in front of goal.
The Senegal international hasn't scored in the last five games and is currently on a run of one goal in his last seven, but Mail Sport have reported despite a lack of goals recently, Jackson is highly appreciated around the club for leading the press out of possession.
Jackson clearly needs help and he is playing well, but currently he's not putting the ball in the back of the net, although other than Palmer, all Chelsea's attackers haven't contributed recently.
Chelsea need an alternative to Jackson, but whether one comes in January remains to be seen , but they have been linked with a move for Liam Delap.
The Blues are also exploring a move for Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel, although Fabrizio Romano has described that move as difficult.
Chelsea are creating chances but Enzo Maresca needs his players to start putting the ball in the back of the net as they look to stop the recent rot.
