Craig Burley has been gasping for the chance to get stuck into Chelsea after he was forced to bite his tongue upon seeing his old team doing well for months up until now.

But with no wins in 5, there's without doubt a big wobble at Stamford Bridge, and Burley is licking his lips. On ESPN's soccer show last night he unveiled his major doubts about his old team after they fluffed another lead to make it 5 Premier League games without a win.

The talk of a title race has evaporated – we're now back to where we were last year, desperately trying to scratch back into the top 4.

You can see Burley speaking in the clip embedded here:

"We're seeing Chelsea hit that plateau of where we thought they'd be, and it's whether they can sustain any consistency, or regain some consistency, between now and the end of the season which defines if they can get into that top four," Burley pointed out.

"That's going to be a fight for them now, getting into the top 4. Because the Fulhams and the Bournemouths are as organised and are as big a threat as Chelsea are."

He's not wrong. It's not just a question of us getting back into form to get into the top 4, it's about those around us. Newcastle, Man City, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton, West Ham, Tottenham, Man U… that's the list of teams queueing up behind us, and that's a scary prospect. Not all of them will have the quality to catch us, but we only need one side from that whole group to finish the season stronger to squeeze us out of the top 4.
